State tracking how every big building is heated/New Yorker provides meme fodder/Emily Rooney: Jon Keller is “just terrific”
32,991 buildings, 34,000 letters and 38,000 emails
Papers please
The first step in Big Brother’s plan to label the owners of certain big buildings as climate criminals - and extract a penalty for that crime - has been completed.
In compliance with the Net Zero mandates signed into law by Governor Baker in 2022 the Department of Energy Resources has catalogued 32,991 buildings (2.6B sqft) and determined, based upon a legally required survey, that the vast majority of large buildings in the Commonwealth are heated by, gasp, natural gas.
Planet killers!!
Heating your large building by burning police cars apparently was not an option.
“As anticipated, and in spite of a wide-ranging outreach and education campaign, DOER found challenges along the way. So far, the data reported is incomplete and is still being vetted and validated for accuracy, but DOER, utilities, and building owners took significant steps to meet the statute’s directives,” a DOER letter reporting the findings to the legislatures said on Monday.
The New Yorker, Wu and Platner
The New Yorker launched The 25 Young(ish) New Democrats to Watch placing Wu in a comfy leather chair at the Boylston Street Station and Platner on the bow of his oyster work boat in the same chair. To be clear we can’t confirm that Platner actually works on the boat or just has the boat to appear as if he works. The New Yorker pics:

The meme’s:

Emily Rooney and Jon Keller
Jon Keller is plotting his return after getting wicked fired from CBS 4, claiming his phone is “jammed with dozens of very generous texts, emails and phone calls about the interruption by corporate layoffs of our 34-year run on local TV.”
Meanwhile Emily Rooney is taking it real hard.
Rooney told Contrarian Boston that Keller is “a real tough interviewer. He’s a great debate moderator. He doesn’t wear his politics on his sleeve. He’s a fabulous journalist. He’s funny. He talks, speaks really clearly. He’s just terrific.”
The cope with Scott Van Voorhis is priceless. Watch:
